Degree Pathways for Medicine and Allied Health Sciences
Your one-year pathway
The Kings Degree Pathway Programme is a one-year pathway to Medical School.
By working closely with our partner Medical Schools, we have developed specific modules and specialised support for students who want to access Medical degrees in the UK.
Standards for the Programme are set by an external and independent Advisory Board which meets three times each year to ensure best practice, moderate marks where required and hear appeals.
- Students study Biology, Chemistry and Maths (Strong students are allowed to take an extra module of Further Maths)
- Provides the same knowledge and skills as A-levels that universities want
- Additional modules specifically designed for university and medical students

Start dates
- September and January for all except Bristol, Keele and Aston Pathways which only start in September
Entry requirements
- Completed 11 – 12 years of schooling
- GCSE Biology and Maths both at minimum of 5 (strong pass) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum IELTS 6.5 with 6 in Reading and Writing
- Completing the Medical Summer SmartClass first is highly recommended

- 1 academic year (3 terms)

Other Medical Pathways at Kings
A-levels
- Completing A-levels in Maths and Sciences is ideal for students intending to study a degree in Medicine or Medical Sciences – particularly at one of the top UK universities
- Students with exceptional ability have the option to take a one-year A-level course
Medical Summer Programme
- The programme provides an insight in to the world of medicine and the wide range of careers opportunities available.You will learn what being a doctor actually involves as well as the skills and personal attributes which are required.

Medical School Preparation
There are around 8,000 applicants for medical places each year — but only about 600 places available for international applicants. We have developed a carefully planned programme to support our exceptional students with ambitions to be accepted to medical school.
