Aside from tuition and accommodation, which may all be paid for before you leave home, you will need to make sure you have enough money to cover other costs while you are learning at Kings Bournemouth.

Eating and drinking
If you have booked half-board or bed and breakfast accommodation, make sure you have £10 per day to spend on additional food, snacks and drinks.
If you have booked a self-catering option, we recommend you budget for £15-20 per day on food.

Supermarkets / Grocery shops
Tesco Express on Braidley Road is a very convenient supermarket on Braidley Road, within easy reach of Kings Bournemouth and has a wide range of produce at very good prices.
For a wide choice of international foods and spices, Yaawin Global Spicy Supermarket on Christchurch Road is very close to the school. Yaawin Global is very pricey though so we recommend students use it only for specific items they might not find in other supermarkets.
Morrisons is very close to our SPQ residence but tends to be expensive as well so good only for last minute food shopping.

Some activities are free. Other events and excursions will have a cost.

If you think you will travel a lot by train, you may like to get a railcard. A Young Persons Railcard available to students aged 16-25 for £30, offering 1/3 discount on Off-Peak rail fares (some students aged over 25 may also be eligible).
Course materials and exam fees
Course Books
Students are provided with study materials but you may choose to buy a course book if you feel it will help you study.
Course books cost about £25. The number of books you need will depend on your own progress. You will usually need a new book each time you change your class; this may be about every 8-12 weeks depending on your personal progress.
You may also want to buy additional self-study materials to help you during your stay and a grammar books costs around £25.
Examination Fees
If you would like to take an examination during your stay with us, please speak to your teacher. You can prepare for an exam at Kings but the exam itself will take place in an exam centre. There are various exam centres in Bournemouth or in cities nearby so you will be able to find an exam date and location which suits you.
